New industry, new jobs, redevelopment and expansion are subjects of some of Lufkin Economic Development Corporation’s recent success stories.
PID Services and the Lufkin EDC partnered in an agreement to expand PID’s manufacturing capabilities to provide quality pumping units made in America. PID plans to hire 100 new full-time employees after the completed expansion.
Lufkin is full of talented entrepreneurs that are managing change. LufTex Gears also opened in 2016 and is repairing GE gears.
The Lufkin EDC has also partnered with Atkinson Candy Company this year in expanding both the warehouse and kitchen space. This expansion will create 32 new full-time employees.
Additionally, the Lufkin EDC assisted TFG Lufkin, LP in the redevelopment of Angelina Village Shopping Center.
Lufkin’s abundance of water is something to boast about and is critical for industry development and growth.
