Angelina Airport, Texas Department of Transportation’s Airport of the year in 1997, continues to grow in both capacity and use. One of the cleanest and best run small airports in Texas, Angelina Airport is home to corporate fleets, private planes and military training hops and air search and rescue operations alike.

Located  7 miles southwest of Lufkin, the Angelina County Airport has two asphalt runways: 7/25, 5,398 ft X 100 ft., and 15/33, 4,309 ft X 100 ft., with 7 approaches.  There are approximately 75 aircraft based at the airport, including 3 jets.

The airport hosts 50 – 150 private airplanes every month at one of the largest fly-ins in the region many of which come to enjoy the “best hamburgers in Texas” at the airport café. The local Experimental Aircraft Association comprised of some of the areas best and most avid pilots also provide free plane rides to youngsters at each month’s fly-ins to educate youth about the wonders or aeronautics and help promote the next generation of pilots.
