The Lufkin Angelina County Economic Development Partnership team acts as a clearinghouse for information that expedites the process of developing in Lufkin/Angelina County
The mission of the Lufkin/Angelina County Economic Development Partnership is to promote economic development, expansion, and diversification in the Lufkin/Angelina County area through economic programs, charitable donations, and educational sessions.
The LACEDP is a non for profit, 501(c)(3) organization, incorporated in 1995. Funding for the Partnership comes from public and private investors.

Small Business Development Center
The Angelina College Small Business Development Center assists new business owners and helps existing businesses raise capital to start up and expand. Professional consultants help start-up and growing businesses evaluate financing alternatives, develop loan packages, review and update business plans and strategies and access financial check ups and recommendations The Angelina College Small Business Development Center can also help business owners evaluate new market opportunities selling to federal, state and local governments and to customers outside the United States.
Lufkin, Texas incubates business through the small business development center at Angelina College.
Chamber of Commerce
Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce
Lufkin EDC is proud to partner with the Lufkin/Angelina Chamber of Commerce. For more than 90 years, the chamber has existed in Angelina County to improve the business climate in Lufkin and Angelina County. The Chamber and its hundreds of volunteers strive to serve the membership through the stimulation of economic growth and trade, the education of the public in the role and purpose of business, the support of activities which enhance the area’s quality of life and by serving as a catalyst for positive change in the community.

Lufkin EDC is proud to partner with the Lufkin Convention & Visitors Bureau. Lufkin’s CVB promotes the city, attracts meeting, convention and tourism business, and enhances and contributes to the economic well-being of the city.
The Lufkin CVB is a non for profit, 501(c) 6 organization, incorporated in 1976. Funding for the Lufkin CVB comes from both the public sector (a percentage of the Accommodations Tax revenues) and private sponsorship.
Lufkin EDC is proud to partner with the Main Street Lufkin. Main Street Lufkin is a community development organization and works to improve economic management and strengthen public participation by making downtown a fun place to live, work, shop and play.
The mission of Main Street Lufkin is to work in conjunction with downtown property owners, tenants, employees, city staff, and visitors to facilitate a safe, clean, attractive, an economically viable downtown. While fostering historic preservation, a good overall image, and a wholesome environment, these goals will be accomplished by utilizing the Texas Main Street Four-Point approach system. Organization, Promotion, Economic Restructuring and Design.
Texas Forest Country Partnership
Texas Forest Country Partnership
The Texas Forest Country Partnership is a regional economic development organization that coordinates economic development-related activities in East Texas on behalf of a 12-county area. The partnership includes Angelina, Houston, Jasper, Nacogdoches, Newton, Polk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby, Tyler, and Trinity counties. Other counties may be included on specific projects.
The Texas Forest Country Partnership brings together industry leaders, concerned citizens, public officials, and government agencies from the represented counties to advance initiatives important to our region. These include,
- The promotion of new and expanded primary employer payrolls;
- The development of East Texas as a transportation hub;
- The development of important roads and highways;
- Support in developing a strong tourism industry;
- The development of a strengthened rural health care delivery system;
- The perpetuation and wise use of our natural resources;
- The promotion of strong educational facilities;
- The initiation of an annual economic summit;
- The fair allocation of water resources; and
- Representation of East Texas issues in Austin and Washington.
Type B Corporation
The City of Lufkin allocates one-eighth of one percentage of locally-collected sales tax into an economic development fund. The annual Type B sales tax averages approximately $1 million. With oversight by the Lufkin City Council, the Economic Development Corporation Board works to determine how those funds will be spent. The mission of the Economic Development Corporation is to stimulate the growth and expansion of our existing industry base and to conduct an aggressive national recruitment effort aimed at attracting new industry and quality jobs to the City of Lufkin and Angelina County.
