CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial Lufkin –
CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial boasts leading medical technology – including the area’s most advanced imaging center – and is East Texas’ only Joint Commission Certified Stroke Care Center and Primary Level II Stroke Facility. It is also a regional cardiovascular care center, and the highest accredited Chest Pain Center in the area. Woodland Heights Medical Center –
Woodland Heights Medical Center is ranked in the top five percent of hospitals for excellence in cardiac care. The hospital is ranked second in Texas for cardiology and cardiac interventional procedures. With a staff of more than 200 professionals, Woodland Heights offers a comprehensive list of medical and surgical specialties and treatment modalities. Other Healthcare Institutions & Programs
Health District – The Angelina County and Cities Health District was organized by community leaders in 1967 to protect and promote public health in Angelina County. The Health District has an in-house pharmacy and a $6 million budget.
Veterans Administration Clinic – The Charles Wilson VA Outpatient Clinic provides board-certified primary care, surgical and psychiatric nursing care, radiology testing, pharmacy, benefits counseling, and veterans’ claims assistance.
Hospice in the Pines – Hospice in the Pines is in its 19th year and maintains its offices in two historic homes on South Raguet Street. The Inpatient Hospice Unit is located in a five-room area in Memorial Health System of East Texas in Lufkin.
Joe W. Elliott House – The Joe W. Elliott House is a hospitality ministry, offering a place for out-of-town patients and their family members to stay while receiving medical treatment in Lufkin.
Blood Center of East Texas – The Blood Center of East Texas is the primary supplier of blood components to eight hospitals including Memorial Health Systems in Lufkin, Livingston, and San Augustine; Woodland Heights Medical Center; Nacogdoches Medical Center and Memorial Hospitals; and Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill.
Stewart Regional Blood Center – The Stewart Regional Blood Center collects 150 to 200 units of blood a day to ensure area hospitals have an adequate supply.
Burke – Burke provides mental health and intellectual and developmental disability services, as well as outpatient drug care and a halfway house to patients with drug abuse. Burke is one of East Texas’ largest employers.
